WiDeS at IEEE ICC in Sydney:
June 10-14, 2014

The WiDeS group was strongly represented at the International Conference on Communications (ICC), the flagship conference of the IEEE in Sydney, Australia. A total of 5 papers was presented: Vinod Kristem talked about “Experimental Determination of UWB Ranging Errors in an Outdoor Environments”. Yan Yan presented results from a collaboration between Prof. Willner’s optical group and WiDeS on OAM. Andy Molisch presented investigations into “Vehicle-to-Vehicle Channel Models with Large Vehicle Obstructions” (lead-authored by former visiting student Ruisi He), “Joint Power and Bandwidth Allocation in Cooperative Wireless Localization Networks” (lead-authored by former visiting professor Tingting Zhang), and “QualityAware MillimeterWave Device-to-Device Multi-Hop Routing for 5G Cellular Networks” (a collaboration with recently graduated PhD student Joon Kim). Andy Molisch also gave a keynote at the localization workshop, on “Multipath in localization systems – friend or foe?”
