The paper " Training for Antenna Selection in Time-Varying Channels: Optimal Selection, Energy Allocation, and Energy Efficiency Evaluation" by WiDeS PhD student Vinod Kristem, longtime collaborator Professor Neelesh Mehta from the Indian Institute of Science, and Andy Molisch from WiDeS was in the list of the "most downloaded" papers of the prestigious IEEE Transactions no Communications during August 2013.

Intel provides funding for 5G research

as part of Intel's highly competitive "5G" research program, WiDeS (in collaboration with USC professors Giuseppe Caire and Alan Willner, NYU Professor Ted Rappaport, and Princeton University Professor Mung Chiang) has received funding to explore the future of wireless communications.

June 9-13th

WiDeS member Joongheon (Joon) Kim presented a paper entitled as “Quality-Aware Coding and Relaying for 60 GHz Real-Time Wireless Video Broadcasting” at the conference IEEE International on Communications, Budatest, Hungary. IEEE ICC is a flagship conference of the IEEE Communications Society, and one of the most selective events for communications research.

WiDeS guest researcher Ruisi He, working on wireless propagation channels, presented a paper on channel modeling for high-speed railways at the conference IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC) 2013, Shanghai, China. IEEE WCNC is a flagship conference of the IEEE Communications Society, and one of the most selective events for communications research.
